NaNoWriMo – The Torridon Murder

The first time I have had a “strict” deadline but I am seriously trying to keep this deadline, you can start to upload a story from the 20th November 2014, whether I will make the target figure of 50,000 words is another matter.

The important thing is at least you are having ago and seeing what you can produce in the time scale provided.  If you don’t quiet make the 50,000 – it is unfortunate but not life threatening.  You will just have to try harder next time!

Just like being back at school – with “could do better!” on the paperwork!

It is National Novel Writing time again!

I have started a lengthy Novel  – The Loch Torridon Murder.

Whether I ever get to the finish, who knows but I aim to have a jolly good try!

It is a particular story I have wanted to write for sometime and never got around to, so I am going to try and complete it, this time! Well if I don’t it, is no one’s life, is it!

Have you ever had a Murder Story and you have had all the twists and turns and finally thought the story was completed, and then you found that if you carried on a little  further you could go bring other people into the mix and go around the corner and add to the nature of the death etc.,

I sat down yesterday and thought I would add one or two “finishing bits” to my story, and when I looked again this morning, I added a bit more and I am still going around corners and finding interesting twists and turns!  I keep doing things like this, and then find if I did  XYZ I could get back to G and if I went this way I could be at  P!

Well at least I am keeping myself busy if nothing else!

The Church Murder

I have finally managed to publish THE CHURCH MURDER, it should show on Amazon.co.uk and also Goodreads later today.

This Murder story is slightly different, although it does have Forensics in.

The Clergy are heavily involved and there appears to be rival fractions of the hierarchy who have influenced this particular murder, and not for the good of their own people!

I hope you will enjoy the story.

Some of my family do not think I should have a story which states a Murder in Church!  Why when we relate to three periods of our life in which our Church is heavily involved, when you are born you are Christened, then Married and then when you die, you may have a church service and then a burial, or you could have a church service and then be cremated as my Daddy was.

Once you are born, whether a human being or animals -you will eventually die! That is a true fact.

When you will actually die is down to other factors in your life, Murder, illness, accident.Or just good Old Age!

Therefore I have kept to the title of The Murder in Church! I hope you will like the story.

New technology for writing blogs/Posts/Books!!

Do you have a “pet” hate? I have  – my COMPUTER – it is far more clever than I am or ever will be!

I have been using computers for years, even when we “shared” a computer from my University with another Northern University – we called it George and when it broke down a message used to appear saying George was poorly!  Those were the days!

I have a new Book coming out in November which is Book Two of The Middlesmoor Murders. which I hope you will enjoy.

Book Two will be an EBook the same as Book One.

Book One and Book Two of The Middlesmoor Murders will also be published together in Paperback.

I have to say that Merlin causes problems with my computer – he tried to tap the keyboard – at the wrong moment!

Blogs right or wrong!

How do you “make” anyone tell you the truth about your writing.  If you ask the family, friends, other writers even, the vital question – “What do you think of my story”.  You receive the answer they think/know you wish to hear!

It is lovely to have them say – yes it is really good.  Only after a while you are back to square one because you are saying to yourself – they have only said that because they think that is what I need to hear!

You are then back full circle, it is like that with anything in life, but more so I believe in your “writing life”.  Why?- when good constructive thoughts could sometimes make a big difference to the way you write the final paragraph!

Just do not say what my daughter is always saying to me – Mummy you are far too old to write!   I am too old to write, then I am too old to do anything, which makes me thing – I can do what I want, if I am too old!

Therefore I shall just continue to do what I have been doing all along! Not take any notice of anyone who says “don’t you think you are far too old to do that” – The very short answer is NO!  – you would not like the full answer, no really you would not!

I thought you might be interested in a snippet of the above book.

“Reynolds has infiltrated this Police Force, and given very large back-handers in cash to your Men! What do you know about that Chief Constable? Me, nothing at all.

Well sit down, and listen very carefully. Reynolds has been in complete charge of the Mafia Gangs for more than 20 years. He has been in charge of the whole operations, supplying Drugs to those who wanted them and the price for his Drugs is high!

When he was promoted to Chief Inspector, he was also in charge of the Europe and UK Operations for the Mafia and three months ago accepted the leadership of the New York Mafia as well!

Now I would like to know why he came to this particular Area, in fact to this particular area with a well known Mill. The Mill is known for the welfare of the workers, the cleanliness, and the Wages, both weekly and monthly! What is not widely known is that the Mill is part of a combine of seven mills all owned by one Family! The company name is Extract Wool Ltd!

Do you have anything you wish to say to me Chief Constable, you can speak openly in front of Joe!  Yes, you know don’t you that I am being blackmailed by Insp.Reynolds.  Yes, I know that, but not 100% sure why; that is easy, it is because my son bought a packet of Drugs to try, that is why! When I found out I dealt with it and packed him off to Joe’s old school.

I was told by Reynolds that it was settled, and everything was off limit! “

Books to be published soon!

Book Two of The Middlesmoor Murders will be published in November, as will Book two of Murder at T’Mill.

I am working to a short deadline for The Torridon Murder and I hope I will finish on time.  Who knows – it will finish when the story stops and not before!  When you first start a story who knows how long it will be or what twists and turns there will be along the way.  That is what writing is all about, some work out others are killed along the way! That is why writing is so interesting, and never dull!

You start the story thinking it will go A to G and back to D and then to L and in the end it could be entirely different in the middle to what you thought, as more ideas come along the path before it ends. The possibilities that have been created for you along the twists and turns in the plot, and if you go along with the flow that has been created, you may end with a better story than you originally thought about.
